About ISHIBA Development and Empowerment Centre

Creating a Lasting Solution to Hunger, Poverty and Social Injustice since 2006.

ISHIBA Development and Empowerment Centre (IDEC) is a grassroots-focused NGO dedicated to creating sustainable solutions for poverty, hunger, and social injustice. Founded in 2006 by Dr. (Evangelist) Elizabeth N. Praise, IDEC was formally registered as an NGO in 2016. Based in Abuja, Nigeria, we work to uplift rural and peri-urban communities through innovative programs in agriculture, education, health, and gender equality.

At IDEC, we believe in empowering communities to become self-reliant. Through capacity-building initiatives, skill acquisition programs, and advocacy, we address the root causes of poverty and inequality. Our approach is community-driven, ensuring that every intervention is tailored to the unique needs of the people we serve.

IDEC operates at the grassroots level, working directly with communities to implement impactful programs. From training farmers in sustainable agricultural practices to providing healthcare access and advocating for gender equality, we are committed to creating lasting change.

Transforming Lives, One Community at a Time. IDEC has transformed thousands of lives across Nigeria. Through our agricultural programs, we've empowered farmers to increase crop yields and improve food security. Our education initiatives have provided scholarships and vocational training to underserved youth, while our health programs have brought essential medical services to remote communities.

IDEC's work is guided by the principles of integrity, inclusivity, and sustainability. We collaborate with local and international partners to amplify our impact and ensure that no one is left behind.
