Our Story


ISHIBA Development and Empowerment Centre was first founded as a multi-purpose Cooperative society by the National Director and Founder, Dr. Evangelist Elizabeth N. Praise in the year 2006. It was incorporated by the Nigerian Cooperate Affairs Commission and duly registered as a Non Governmental Organization on the 25th of August, 2016 with Headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria. IDEC operates virtually in the 36 states of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the FCT Abuja giving hope to the hopeless, creating a lasting developmental and mental impact on the less privileged, empowering the teaming population spiritually and financially to alleviate and deliver them from the shackles of poverty and deprivation. IDEC is funded by Donations from members of the Board of Trustees, Friends, and Membership registrations.

IDEC is an impartial, independent and God ordained organization vested with the exclusive vision of making Humanitarian services available to the grassroots’ people through trainings and empowerment of members in different skills and socio-cultural practices with particular interest in Agriculture geared at alleviating poverty and improving the lives of the grassroots’ populace.

The core mission of ISHIBA Development and Empowerment Centre is to continue to partner with the local people at the grassroots so as to be able to bring development to the individual, the community and the Nation at large. The services carried out by the Organization is centred on investments in the Country’s greatest assets; the people.

ISHIBA is structured along Six Administrative levels of command and control starting from the National Director at the helms of affairs to the Village Coordinator at the bottom. The National Director (Chief Executive Director, Board of Trustees) controls the entire activities of the Organization worldwide with a solitary power for policy invention, evaluation, intervention and termination. The next line of command flows from the National Secretary through to the State Coordinators and then to the Local Government Coordinators, to the Community Coordinators and finally to the Village Coordinators at the bottom who is the Organization’s contact with the grassroots.
